    Hi, first post for me.
Is anyone on the site good at interpreting TechStream data and have access to Techstream?

I had a full loss of brakes after a car wash, (less than walking speed, minimal damage) and opened a case with Toyota , no joy there yet. I wanted to find out what happened so figured out how to pull the Vehicle Control History. I did have 3 events with recorded data during that keycycle. I have the TSE file and a bunch of screen shots. Let me know, I can upload the file.

This for an 03? Not sure why Toyota would get involved.

That makes more sense. Are the brakes in the 2023 by wire or something? Electric boost? Wondering how the carwash would cause overt brake failure. Booster failure? If electric maybe, but should still be able to muscle them without the booster.

Yeah, not sure either, a very surreal moment or two, I was executing a 3 point turn around, not using the accelerator at all, I'll post up the VCH graphs later, they are on my laptop. Was quite the lesson in how to get the Vehicle Control Data through Techstream. Non of the dealers around me had a clue.

I think @Jeff_5_7 would be your best bet. Although this seems like something that would need to be taken off the forum if you have a case open

I mean what exactly are you looking for? The data should show vehicle speed (you said low), brake application, brake pressure, steering input ect.

Basically it just reads and stores data from the sensors. Is there somthing specific you want to know?

@rlc177 is also knowledgeable about this sort of thing, but he's already got his hands full.

You need the techstream software, when doing a health check each computer with a Vehicle History (RoB) will have a Green Dot in the RoB Column you can click on too pull the RoB records. Also in each computer you can go to Utility and Select Vehicle History (RoB) to pull the records. Each record will have a certain amount of freeze frame data associated with it.

Each RoB has a code but most of that is locked inside TIS tech info. But if you can find the RoB codes you could search on google and some sites in Russia have some manuals copied.

Once techstream has the data loaded you can export it to CSV to be more readable. TSE files can only be viewed in techstream.

Typically three's a lot of garbage events in the RoB and its not very helpful.

So, Toyota responded to my case, blah, blah,, it all tested good, so bye, have a nice day. What is frustrating is that they appear to have approached it from a legal standpoint. I really was just trying to figure out what happened.
I did end up getting a "real" interface cable along with a 2 day subscription to the real Toyota Techstream. I down loaded the Vehicle Control History, and it did show 3 events at exactly the time I had the issue.
    1) SRS Airbag System Over Constant Sensor Signal Input, 2) Sudden Braking History, and 3) Acceleration above certain amount is detected. These are essentially all at the same time. The graphs show the accelerator at zero, and the brake switch at zero. I'll dig up the graphs and upload. Also shows just before the transmission mode as undetermined.

If it shows brake switch at zero, it’s just proving you didn’t hit the brakes.

I'm sure that's how it seems. I guarantee I was stomping the brakes. So I guess the acceleration event also shows I was accelerating, even though the accelerator was not depressed....
