Garage installed new battery backwards at first. Now other than being able to start the vehicle, none of the interior electronics work including the accelerator. All dash warning lights are on. Cannot shift out of park without using the manual release. HELP!

Have you called the garage? They are going to be responsible for a few things....

Connecting the battery backwards blows the main fuse block buried in the under hood fuse box, not an easy job to replace. There is a window in it that you can try to see through to verify. Wouldn’t hurt to check other fuses, maybe get lucky?

I was at the garage when it happened and made them fully aware of what their employee had done. Thanks!

ive checked all fuses under the hood. Tomorrow I check all the fuses behind the driver side kickplate. Additionally, I will test the 100 amp fuse under the hood. But visual inspection it doesn’t seem to be blown. What really aggravates me is generally, I know better than to let anybody else touch my truck!

Not my picture, but circled where the main fuse block is. Hard to see through the windows, especially after a few years worth of dirt and dust. There is more than one fuse in the block.

You'd probably get a better response on this if you post in just the general 2.5 thread (not the Pro thread)...

Good luck on a quick and easy resolution; hopefully they didn't fry anything beyond a fuse or a relay or 2

And if I understand correctly, to get that fuse link out you have to remove the entire fuse block and access the link from underneath???

I would have my truck towed to the closest Toyota dealer, have them repair the fuse block, and give the bill (+ tow charges) to the garage that did it.

Look for the ground straps that connect the body to the engine. There is one on the passenger side under the air cleaner section and another on the drivers side. They usually take the load first so that may be the cause or contribute to the cause. They would be either burnt in half or severely burnt

This^. Seems the offending garage is of no concern.

Unless they didn't use an 'F' battery, I don't know how this is even possible.
The POS cable won't reach the NEG battery post..
Doesn't matter which way the battery is positioned, the cables are extremely short..

At least that is how my 2014 is setup.
