Anyone have any advice on how I can grease the slip joint on my 07 tundra 4x4? It doesn't have a zerk fitting, just a rubber boot with 2 metal o crimp style clamps. Seen folks having to remove the drive line to get to it. I was thinking just removing the O clamps, pull the rubbber boot back and grease as much as I can, then use some o clamps (not the oem crimp style ones thats on it now) to hold the boot in place? Anyone see why this wouldn't work?

Took my 21 driveshaft completely out, put SKF greasable u joints in, and found the splined slip joint was barely lubed from the factory. Put a new boot and clamps on it after I greased it well. Should be good for a decade or so with regular greasing of the u joints. Just be sure to paint lines on everything before you take it out and line it up on the lines when you put it back in. The boot had to be ordered online from an aftermarket company. Napa had the u joints.

I tried my initial method, couldn't really get much grease in when i tried to pull the boot back. Ended up taking the drive shaft from the rear diff to the slip joint off and did it the right way. Wasn't a bad job at all. Made a video, hope this will help someone else that is a little shy about tackling this. super easy job.

My boot was reusable so didn't have to get a new one, but if you need one, this seems to be a good replacement. double check your measurements to be sure.
