Not sure what this is, but looks like a small hole.

Thinking about throwing duct tape on it and calling it a day?

    What’s wrong with stock?
Just another example of why not to buy a gen 3…..

That’s never happened on a previous generation. I better go trade my truck in for an older one.

    Nitrogen filled tires!
Gotta agree - maybe a Yugo would be a better option, or they could ride the bus or use their e-bike. Definitely not Tundra Owner quality.

Mine looks just like this and only 7500 miles on truck !Looks like Toyota needs to get back to vendor sourcing these hoses and I am going to address this with dealer.. Tape would work to keep it from sucking but for the price of truck you shouldn't have to rebuild and remake everything . Wonder if this effects gas mileage cause I was getting good mileage when driving in city but now it is sucking?smileytn1

It's just tape for God sakes!!!!!
While your at it Count the Fing sheets of toilet paper in a roll too..........:nuclear::):):)

No vendor sourcing, they make there own wiring harnesses. Do the same for fork lifts, harness is made while the fork lift is coming down the assembly line. I've been waiting a year to get a wiring harness in for a fork lift because it has to be made and they will not stop the line to do a one off harness at this time. Fork lift is over 10 yrs old.
Yes I work for a TMH dealer so I know these things.

That is just it dude its not a wiring loom after inspecting it is just gray tape that has shrunk and the weakness of the plastic hose under it failed and made a hole and will tape over again with gray tape just quality control must have been off that day! LOL

Actually no they don't. All wire harnesses come in as complete parts. Can't speak to forklifts but all vehicle plants do not make wire harnesses in house.

But I do agree...it is just tape. Any wire harness on any vehicle will have gaps and spaces like that. It is so not critical in any way and has little function other than aesthetics and keeping the wires together during assembly.

Hmm, me have to do some investigating on this. Toyota is very smart on the assembly lines and controlling cost. I'll be back!

    The Dirty T ( ^_^)_且

I don't know about Toyota but one of my first jobs out of high school in the late 80's was a warehouse job at a company called Coleman (not that Coleman) that made the wire harnesses for the Jeep and Eagle (remember those) lines. We would pick/load/ship raw wire and parts to factories in Mexico and then load and ship the finished harnesses to assembly lines in the U.S. and Canada.

Funny story, we got employee pricing on cars so one of my co-workers bought a Eagle Talon. A few weeks later it burned up in our parking lot. Yep, bad wire harness.
