2021 Tundra - Rear Window Defrost Connectors and Tabs Broken

Rear window defroster is not working on 2021 Tundra LTD. The local Toyota dealer sent a picture of the defrost connectors and tabs broken off. The quote is $1,773.92 which they said involves "rear windshield glass replacement due to connectors and tabs broken off." The quote involves removing the back seat and panels to allow the window repair. The rear window is not broken. From what I can see online generally speaking the connectors and tabs can easily be repaired but I haven't seen anything specific to the Tundra. Is this a much bigger job than I think it is? After some research, I still don’t understand how this the system works but I do understand the window replacement needs to happen. I saw that the Nissan Frontier would require the same action of replacing the rear window. At this point my dealer is refusing to cover this as a warranty item.
