Looking to see if there are any model railroaders out there. I recent found my fathers Lionel prewar train. I took the locomotive apart and the wiring fell apart in my hands. (See pic) Ended up rewiring it and this hobby blew up on me. (See 2nd pic) Instead of a small oval track I ended up putting in a ceiling track around my den. Now I’m looking at the newest trains out there in Lionel and MTH. They are so advanced now and expensive….up to $1300+!!! So my question is I’m now using Fasttrack for my dads train but I also want to start buying the cooler but newer trains like a Lionel Legacy. Besides this new track is there anything else I need to buy in order to get the most out of Legacy model? Anyway please share what you got and give me your thoughts and opinions. Also what are your thoughts between going with MTH models vs Lionel trains?
