Sorry this happened to you and glad you weren’t injured. No way in hell 3.5K. Recently had a lightly pushed in rear qtr panel straightened and painted on my Taco and all three estimates were $2.5-3K.

The more and more they dig into accident damage. The more they will find bad. Happens 60% of the time...Every time.

My son just got rear ended in his ‘09 Accord. Just got the estimate and this is a shade over $5000! So yeah, expensive to fix. IMG_3603.jpg

Dealer estimate so far. Does not take into account the bed cover that was damaged as well, but to my knowledge the insurance should cover it, we'll see.

That seems low. My first estimate for front-end damage was about $2,600, now $13,500. Don't forget to add ceramic paint protection if you had that applied. Hopefully they'll get you back on the road soon.

Just called and no frame damage apparently, but the bed assembly has to be replaced along with tailgate, bumper and a lot of bumper reinforcements. The front is probably more complicated, hence the price difference

Picked up the truck today. Total was 15k for repairs and took 2 weeks. Bed assembly had to be replaced along with all of the rear bumper and tailgate. Like nothing ever happened.

Yup, first thing I checked. Can't notice them at all and I spent around 5 minutes looking at each side lol. No clue how they did it.

Great news and that's quick turnaround IMO.
What did the new bed have for a spray in liner? The factory one or did the body shop have to put one in?

The factory one, didn't have any bed liner before. Was worried with the quick turnaround but looks like they did an awesome job. The shop warranties the repairs as long as I'm the owner.

It's really refreshing to see a positive outcome from one of these posts. So often it's insurance hassles, and excessive damage, and shops making people wait months on end. I am really glad that your crappy rear ending wound up not being one of the messy ones!

Congratulations. Glad it worked out. It's been four months and my front end damage still isn't fixed. So much for taking it to a Toyota dealership body shop.
