Tundra Charging System ALT-S Mod?

Hi guys

so I got an Odyssey Extreme battery after having terrible experiences with Toyota dealer TrueStart batteries, two back to back lasting 6 and 11 months. Nothing wrong with vehicle it was battery failure.

Anyways this odyssey extreme battery is a top of the line AGM, but I believe it’s meant to be maintained at 14.0 - 14.5 volts, and I saw a video for Highlanders and others showing a mod that is needed to maintain these AGM batteries at that 14-14.5 ReCharge voltage.

What they do is they remove the 7.5A fuse from the ALT-S input, and place a diode in.

Do we have to do this in a 2018 Tundra?

And the other thing is the ALT-S fuse is only 5.0A in my fuse box, not 7.5A

So basically after all that, just leave it as-is….that was the consensus ?

I do have a NOCO Genius 5, which I was going to hook up once every several months or if I go away and leave the truck sitting for more than a week
