Took my truck for a tire rotation because I don't have time to fool with it today as I'm taking the ol lady to an out of town event for the weekend. Discount Tire was booked solid so I took it to a place I've been a few times and trusted.

When I got home, I took out the ol torque wrench and got to checking tightness. All good until I got to the rear passenger tire. Here's what I found.

    Pics of the fallout:

Studs on the spacer look fine. The trip home is less than 3 miles away so not enough time to really work them over. Enough to kill the holes in my wheel though.

Anyway, would it be OK to slap it back on to make to work for the week or should I use my spare (non-matching setup)?

a few other things standing in ... for now.
I feel like the safe answer here is go with the spare. If the original still holds torque after driving on the damage a bit though it’s probably at least ‘ok’.

Don't know that continually checking the torque hold across the week is really a win though either. This sux in general regardless. Sorry man - definitely a hassle you didn’t need!

When Sam's club replaced tires on mine, I had to jump up and down like a bunny to loosen up the nuts. One of them is going in stiff now. Really upset.

    Sorry about your woes, gang.

Customer service. It all comes down to that and this place has it. The manager lives in my neighborhood. They have a new wheel ordered and arriving on Thursday. I'm going in on Saturday to get it put on.

I happened to leave a set of work keys in the shop when I left so the guy at the counter drove back and found them then brought them to me at my house. He put eyes on the damage apologized then told me that he wasn't trying to make excuses but explained the guy who did the work had just got news his good buddy got Halo flighted earlier this morning after a bad accident. His buddy also works there as an emergency service tech. He then thanked me for being gracious and left.

    They kept a customer today.
