My connected services are due to expire next month and I really don't want to pay for them as I primarily use Car Play, but I do have one concern. Will I lose over the air updates to the system if I don't subscribe to connected services? This may be a dumb question but I would love for the system to keep updating even if I'm not subscribed to connected services.

Anyone know the answer to this?

You would just lose the drive connect (Toyota navi) and remote connect (mobile app services) neither of which mention over the air updates. Since you can still connect your truck to WiFi I suspect you should be able to get over the air updates that way. Purely speculation on my part which is of no value to you.

I'm curious about remote start myself. Remote start is part of remote connect. I never use the app to start the truck though. I just start the truck with the fob. If a person lets the connected services expire can a person still start the truck via the fob?

Thanks. I do know that you can start the truck via the fob after remote connect services have expired.

For some reason my fob won't start the truck,I can lock, disarm but no fire up.
Secondly I dunno what happened recently but my phone app no longer has "on my phone app" the lock, unlock or start option.
I paid for the stupid plan like 2 months ago and now as of Tuesday those options are gone.
I don't know if the phone or truck farted,or maybe both.
I really do not want to go to the dealer.
