I won't say it was the best place ever, but reminded me plenty of other 'burb-like areas I'd lived in.

It was safe for us to ride our bikes to school every day, you could generally walk around safely, plenty of kids, but ... again that was 40-some-odd years ago.

I’m in Flower Mound, about 12 miles north of DFW airport. Really nice area. Safe, friendly. I’m glad to have found this town and I’m glad that my kids are growing up here.

The Colony also seemed nice. I visited a friend there a while back.
Full disclosure I'm not a fan of DFW.

The Colony is really nice. It’s more upscale, modern, hip. We looked at a house there and it was on our list of considerations. We chose this area because it’s quiet. We’re in the northern end so there’s not much traffic either. Having a shit ton of kids, we aren’t “out on the town” type people.

My dog is from farmersville, east dallas. & he's always panhandling. Wanted a bit of potato, i knew he wasnt gonna like it, he knew he wasnt gonna like it, but he still took it, dropped it on the ground, and asked for more.

Got to love the panhandlers you run into in the city of Boston. They tell you they need food for money.

Give them food and they’ll toss it as soon as you walk away since they get their meals at the shelter.

If they gave drugs and booze and cigarettes at the shelter i don’t think you'd see a single panhandler on the street.

When I was a kid and I would go to work with my dad, he would always stop at every person on the corner with a sign that said “will work for food” and he would offer them a job. I only ever remember one person actually getting in the truck. That guy now owns a multi million dollar electrical contracting company.

You should see the joy he gets when he sees a car parked on the street next to a sidewalk.

They still exist. I sat next to a guy at my work who had 12 sisters and 1 brother. They were borderline poor growing up even though his father was a CPA.

My mom is one of 19. Old school Catholic indeed.

I have over 50 first cousins on that side. Over 100 second cousins. Or cousins once removed? I can never remember.
