First time poster here! Just bought my 3rd Tundra. I had a 1st gen, 2nd gen, and now a 2017 TRD that just hit 40k. I live in rural CO so first thing I did was get a bumper on it. Picked up a new Ranch Hand Summit from someone on FB super cheap and install was a breeze EXCEPT it was packaged with two driver side fog light mounts so no lights until I figure out how to source part (proving NOT easy) or weld up something that will work. No biggie given the deal I got on it. I love the look of the bumper but with all-stock everything else, it looks pretty front-end heavy to me. I want to level it out and hoping for suspension upgrade suggestions. I have read a lot about the 6112s and would like to hear about other options.

    Some considerations/questions:
-I don't do any serious off-roading but drive lots of dirt roads and mountain roads.
-I regularly haul horses, wood, campers, etc.
-I don't want to compromise ride quality but I don't really care if it is improved. I am more concerned with a setup that will handle to additional weight of the bumper, which is a net 150# increase, over the long term.
-Cost is a factor. I don't want to compromise quality, but would love to hear about options coming in at less than the 6112s.
-I don't want to go down the rabbit hole of replacing other parts, like UCAs. If I am just looking to level, should I have to? I do know an alignment will be needed after.
-We did some wheeling over pretty rough roads yesterday and ride quality didn't seem impacted by weight of the bumper, at all. I had read that additional weight only becomes a factor at ~200 pound net increase, but not sure I believe that (over the longer term).
-Given how I use the truck, would it be worth it to upgrade the rear suspension while I am at it?

I have been lurking and reading for a long time now, and I don't know much about this stuff so it is hard to piece together exactly what I need.:help:

    Thanks, ya'll!

    Paging @memario1214

6112 are probably the best thing for the front to handle the weight and still perform well. For the rear, 5100 and RAS would probably fit your needs since you do haul with it. All in you are probably 1600ish but November is coming up and there are often sales. Talk with Colton (tagged above), he is a great vendor with superb cost to your door before you rule out too much.

@RobertD excuse my ignorance I am trying to learn ;) would the RAS be better than an air bag system for hauling? Would they both improve payload? Getting wood and hay and what not I tend to put a lot of weight in the bed, too.

    Thanks @RobertD
To answer your question here the RAS won't be "better" than an airbag system, but it will be more passive on your day to day experience. If you're not loading a TON of weight into the truck then an RAS system is great.

Also, I'll likely be a little slow on responses here for a bit as I will be forced away from normal forum time for a bit over the next few weeks. We'll let the forum folks here help you out with questions as they arise. That said, please feel free to give us a call here at Hotshot Offroad anytime and I would be happy to chat through things with you. 406-936-0206

Nothing will improve payload short of making the truck lighter. But the RAS or airbag setup would improve how the truck handles the weight in the bed. Reduce squat and improve handling.
