Well I got my frame repaired today. Local fabricator who specializes in older Toyotas and frame stuff, payed 550$ CAD for this patch ( cut out old first, grind, put new ) , exhaust repair and welding a nut to front diff drain so I can get it open, and a plate riveted in driver rear wheel well where there was a rusted out hole

Pic of pre repair, pic of post repair ( it's not fluid filmed as well, not leaving blank)

Feels nice to have that fixed lol

Drill some drain holes in that plate. Appears to be the low point.

That looks like a pretty good repair job. Hopefully you can make that frame last a while longer.

I was looking at that area of my frame tonight and noticed some rust inside the boxed portion I've never noticed before.

I found some old pictures on my phone. This is my frame after applying Fluid Film. Looks prestine right?

This is the opposite side where the stupid brace(stiffener) is. That area was really bad about trapping moisture.

And this is what it looks like after I went over that area with POR15.

As far as I know my truck as spent all its life in NC/TN where we get little salt. That's how shitty these frames are. You have to really inspect them and stay on top of protecting them. The coating Toyota put on the frame actually did more harm than good I think.

I don’t want to bum you out but you may want to take a look inside that area where it rotted through before you got it fixed. That hole is a precursor of things to come as your frame slowly rusts from the inside out. Mine was like that 5 years ago.

Lets just say i have to get into another vehicle soon.
