Hello - I just installed the OEM Audio Plus Reference 500Q system in my 2018 SR5 Double Cab and includes the additional dedicated amp for the subwoofer under the rear seat. I'm not totally satisfied with the sound yet, it seems to be a little rough / harsh. I think it needs some additional tuning. Question is, has anyone tuned the DSP amps for this setup, and/or what equipment and software is recommended to perform this? Preference would be to learn how to do this myself, before I take the truck to an audio engineer. It seems there are plenty of apps out there to measure / analyze the current audio setup in a car, but not sure how to interface and adjust the OEM Audio DSP amps.

Have you contacted OEM A+ on your concerns? I'm curious cause I was about to pull the trigger on a system. I ran the Reference 500 in my Tacoma and really enjoyed it in that truck.

I did contact OEM Audio plus during the installation, and they were very helpful. Took me about a full day to do the install. One thing that I have noticed is that the sound is very different depending on which station and song that you are listening. I have Sirius satellite radio, local stations with HD radio, and sometimes play music from my phone (Spotify). Some sound really great, while others are just ok. So maybe not so much the tuning and more a condition of the music source.

Oh that makes sense. Seems like it’s more the quality of the audio source than the system itself.

    Hello,
I have had the OEM Audio+ Reference 500 with sub and dedicated amp for a year now. OEM Audio+ advertises “ the way the artists intended it to be heard”, and my system is exactly that.
After taking this audio journey with my Tacomas OEM Audio+ system. I have discovered that over the course several decades of music throughout my all digital AppleMusic library, that the process of the recording of music has substantially improved since around 1990. The recordings since then have progressively improved to outstanding and is in your face obvious when listened to on this system. Pro tip … set your factory settings Trebble, Mids & Bass to Flat (0)

Since I installed this system, I have heard aspects of songs I have never heard before even though I have heard that song a 100 times. I enjoy the system so much in my 2022 Tacoma that tomorrow I am installing the second sub to complete the OEM Audio+ Reference 500 with dual subs and dedicated amp.
