RIP Brooks Robinson

Brooks Robinson, the Baltimore Orioles legend who made MLB history by winning 16 straight Gold Gloves at third base, has died, the team announced Tuesday.

He was 86 years old.

As a lifelong orioles fan I always admired Brooks. It really is too bad that he passed before the team has the chance to overcome the Angelos family dysfunction and possibly win the American League in the next 5 games…..

 

I was always a huge Ripken Jr fan. For my generation, he is Mr Oriole, but Brooks is a name that anyone who loves baseball nostalgia/history knows. Here's some of Ripken's thoughts on his passing:
