Inside the Secondary Air Injection Valves, there are Reed Valves that often go bad. I have replaced two Reed Valves already. However, in order to replace them, it seems that I must purchase the entire valve assembly, which is expensive. The housing never seems to be damaged, just the Reed Valves. Can I simply purchase 2 or 4 Reed Valves? The Secondary Air Injection Valve requires two Reed Valves. But I cannot seem to locate them for sale. Thanks.

I was able to find the unit on Ali-Express by going directly to the site and entering the part number. Good prices: $90-$115. If I can't find the Reed Valves, I will purchase a unit from them. Thanks.

Is this covered by a recall and warranty extension?

Is it a recall item? I don't know, but the truck is 15 years old. The first time I changed the unit was in 2019. The Reed Valve was in horrible shape. I also changed the Secondary Air Pumps at that time because they were holding rainwater. The Reed Valves seem to get fouled with something like exhaust or corrosion. Replacing the unit isn't terribly difficult, but it's time-consuming.

My understanding was the recall reprogramed the ECU to prevent fouling the reed valves. Might be worth talking to Toyota about that

Thank you. I will look into the recall tomorrow. Maybe they have a suggestion.

Well, they will have a suggestion one way or the other. It'll be a few thousand dollars worth.
    :spending:
I dread the day my recalled pumps break again. They were changed once already.

I would count on them failing again it happened to me. Try looking into the Hewitt bypass kit it was the best things I have ever done for my Tundra

    Agh, draft never saves!! :frusty:

Anyways, I just looked them up and my tears!! There are a lot of options and dongles to choose from. If/when mine fail, it'll be interesting to do the research. Needless to say, mine is now seven years since the recall repair and so far, no troubles.

    Here's what they did,
