I would like to know what I need to have the dealer fix/replace on my 2022 tundra engine. Ive driven it about 100 miles since the service and have noted it rough running and decided to check the dip stick. They either added oil and did not remove any or added gallons instead of quarts. oil lever way past "High" Also looks quite dirty. its the weekend so i cant get them on phone over it until Monday. Not sure it I need to have it towed to them or drive it the 27 miles back to them Monday morning. I'm not a mechanic but I know this is not good for an engines long term health.

Have the dealer tow it back, hope everything is figured out. Sounds like it was overfill.
Just tell them is not not running right-just act stupid and see if they try to cover their mess up.

Go for gold, engine replacement under warranty/dealership expense. Who knows what damage was caused due to this in that 100 miles, diminishing your trucks lifespan. :)

+1. I would be going WOT everywhere with that engine in that condition until it turns into kibbles and bits. Then bring it back to the dealership and say, "Idk what happened. You guys did the last oil change. It's stock and still under factory warranty."

I just did my own oil change and the oil looks clean like canola oil! It took just over 7 qts (closer to 7.5) which included some for the filter change as well.

That looks like my old oil, all dark and dirty. Does it smell of fuel as well? Mine had a strong gas smell.

So it looks like you got the bargain "quick" oil change! I would take some of the advice above and take it back to see what the techs say or try to hide. Once they tell you that nothing is wrong, show them your pics of the dip stick.

That is old dirty oil. Dealership did not change it. Or didn’t change the filter perhaps. Or at worst, as you are suspicious of, did t drain the oil before adding another 7 qts. I would recheck that dipstick a couple times and make sure that the level is that high. If so, call the dealership and don’t drive it. Unless you need out of the truck. In that case see post #4

I normally do my oil changes but it was automatically included in the truck.....After corrected they can keep their "free" oil changes

Make a case with Toyota corporate so it’s documented. See if you can’t negotiate a lifetime/10/20 yr powertrain warranty for the screw up.

If I had anyone else change my oil, the vehicle wouldn't leave until at least verification on oil level was within specs.

Agreed. Those included oil changes can cost so much down the road.

It’s gonna be a huge fight if you plan on trying to get a new motor and I would not trust them to do it right. I’d go for a new truck considering what you paid and how long ago.

    good luck. Sorry this happened

    Yep. Ain't free is it?

Hear ye hear ye hear ye. If you have the dealer do your oil change, or other service, when you show up to pick it up bring your tool box and your Rhino ramps. And check EVERYTHING. I like you to position the Tundra right in front of the service bay.

I wanted a faster vehicle so I also bought a Chevy SS... because 4 door sedans with big V8’s are hilarious.
Who has an oil change performed and doesn’t check their oil before they leave the dealer or shop that performed service?

I check oil every time I get fuel, you guys can’t be bothered right after an oil change?

I’d be equally worried about what they drained instead of the engine oil. Front differential? Transfer case? Check level on both.

To be honest before my Yota's I didn't put much thought into OCIs, oil brand, or really much of anything to with maintenance. Just pulled into the dealer when I reached 15-20% on my oil life (chevrolet). Of course I contribute most of that to my 20s.

I used to do all my own oil changes. Now I prefer to pay to have them done. That said, I always wander back to the bay my truck is in and chat with the tech while he works on it. I do check the oil level, drain plug, and oil fill cap before leaving, however.

I'm too broke after buying this rig to afford mods.
Why not two new trucks? Or five? And a reach around while you're at it? :der:

New guy should know I got no issues with sexual favors. Ask @Fotnot for proof. If ya want my toe pics ask @TaquitoBandito. You took this shit a litte to literal. I don’t mean keys for keys but have them trade the truck in and give him a new one at dealer cost. Should be damn close especially for what these trucks still go for used.

If ur gonna ask for a new motor might as well ask for a new truck. My guess the best you will get is a useless lifetime warranty
