Sry i been away for a while been pretty busy with a new baby and house renovation. not sure why i didnt get notified lol. But yes the wheels i purchase were replicas. I actually brought them from a guy on Craigslist i believe. Pretty sure they are no different from the ebay ones.

Looks similar to what I'm looking to do. I'm probably going to go with matte bronze SCS Ray 10's with the Baja TRD center caps and 275/70/R17s. The tires on yours look like they're just the perfect size.

    Something like this.

I've got more work to do, and that probably won't happen in the near-term, unless we hit the mountains in the truck this fall, or I head out yakking.

My springs are squeaking like a MF because the AAL is digging into the overload. ATS shipped my new springs today. Should be here Friday. My Saturday is locked down. Sunday may see them installed. Still have a lot to do:
    • New leaf pack (ATS, 90-221HD)
    • I need to re-clamp my inner boots
    • Diff drop (potentially, if boot re-clamp doesn't work)
    • Extended front brake lines
    • LSPV relocate (maybe delete later - reloc bracket coming Friday from ORS)
    • Bumpstops (likely)
    • I'm sure there's more crap I'm missing.

One thing I'll share is this: The faux black beadlock ring around the meat of the wheel makes the tire look meatier. I don't remember which SCS wheel comes with that - the Ray10 or Blaze10. I think it's the Ray10. This is a "visual inch" tip I'll share, something to keep in the back of your head when using a wheel that has a non-grey/non-black center. SCS is pretty spendy, but I'm not one to talk, I paid a smidge over $300/whl for my Methods, on sale.

I agree: 275/70r17 is the ideal "looks meaty but doesn't rub" tire for these trucks. They also don't feel "heavy" with the right wheel. I definitely made the right choice for me, personally, by going 275 with a more-aggressive looking tread on a 17" wheel that had an offset that gave roughly 4.75" backspace.

I'll add: To the last point, I notice a MASSIVE difference in how heavy things felt with my Raceline 17x9 wheels vs. my Method 17x8.5 wheels. I thought I made a mistake choosing 275/70r17 tires with the Racelines on, things felt sloooooooow and heavy. The wheel change made a significant difference.

I know some folks are runnign 285/70r17. No slight intended. But if I'd have went that large with my Racelines, I'd probably have been rubbing in multiple places. They're just too damn wide with too little backspace to use with aggressive tires like the Mickey Baja Legend, maybe even Baja Boss.

    You're thinking of BR6, SR8 and Ray10.
I wouldn't mind some SR8's. Too bad SCS is way outta my price range

    I bought mine from Toyota.
They just don't fit my current wheel bore.

I was actually surprised. A lot of their wheels are under $250/ea. Including the ones you like. The more outlandish colors offered (like ... blue, gold) are +30% to +50% more spendy than regular ones. I paid less for my gold Methods on-sale than I'd have paid for SCS Ray10s in gold. But I don't like SCS' interpretation of "gold", too much orange.

What wheels do you have? The SCS rep said that those center caps (PTR18-35092) would fit the Ray 10s perfectly. I like that half custom/half OEM look. Just have to wait for the damn things to come back in stock.

    They will fit.
I have KMC Enduro wheels with 108mm bore instead of 106mm. I think my wheels were meant for a GM truck. But I got em cheap, second hand from a friend.

According to people on Tacomaworld, those center caps were discontinued by Toyota a few years ago. That's why they aren't coming back in stock and why used sets fetch a premium.

Meh. I'll find a set somewhere. One of the upsides to paying cash for old trucks is not having a $1,000/month truck note, so I can afford to overpay for a set of center caps.

There was a guy on YouTube that did a DIY video on making them fit using weather stripping.

What part of Texas are you in? If you're near DFW, I'll take them off your hands.

    I'll think about selling mine.
But more likely I'll hold onto em til I get some new wheels that they'll fit in, when I go to 17's and 35's.

Here is my new to me 2005 Tundra DC SR5 4WD. Not a good picture but the only one I have at the moment. I snapped it the day I made it mine. Currently has 115,000 miles on the engine. I hope to have this truck for a very long time. Already ordered timing belt kit and thermostat thanks to the help of an awesome forum member’s guidance @shifty` Thank you for all your help. Already removed the plastic bed liner and ordered a Westin rubber drop in mat. Also ordered some weather tech floor mats. plan on replacing the rims with some black TRD matte black 17’s.
