With the recent funeral of my 2001 Tundra due to timing belt at 214k (was replaced at 100k)….my sons 2000 Tundra w 220k may be due for a timing belt….is there a way to find service records via the VIN #? I know it was done at some point but not sure when.

You can also consider creating your own account at Toyota Owners site and be able to view the records and other items pertaining to your VIN #....Manuals, Service History, Safety Recalls, Vehicle specs....etc

Na. He offered to show it to me but when he said he turned crank shaft and heard a clacking sound….at 60 mph when she went…it’s toast. My pal is guna give $1k for it…not sure his plans for it. I went out and bought this 2016 long bed w 46k miles for $33k…which is unicorn I been looking for …for around the past year …welcome Althea….guess things happen for a reason. Still can’t believe this beast is in my driveway!!!! Guna go check on her. Lol.

The fact he was turning crank with TB off demonstrates he’s not the mechanic you want doing your son’s truck. There is a very specific procedure to sync up the cams if the belt is off.
