Okay so lets assume I know nothing about amps, I bought my truck with an aftermarket Alpine system. It has had a few issues since I bought it.

    1. It randomly completely cuts all driver side speakers out then randomly comes back on.
    2. It has a high pitch whine to it, that seems to increase with acceleration.

I wasn't focused on these until now as I've been traveling for work. Best I can tell without taking the seats out is there's an amp/sub behind the rear seat. I was doing something not related to them and bumped a wire that was connected to the amp, it fixed the speakers for a bit, then it went back to doing what it was doing.

All that said, would a loose wire cause both of those issues?

Although I've never really had any experience with full aftermarket systems, I've heard while talking with audio junkies that it's never a good thing when you run your power wires for your subs and amps next to your RCA cables. I'm guessing that's the cause for the high pitched whine that comes when you accelerate? If this is true, move either or to the other side of the cab and maybe you'll find a loose cable during the process. Hope this helps.
