Aaron here, been wanting a Toyota for years, and finally found the right one. She is an oldie but amazing.

The interior is in amazing shape. Originally sold in Canada, two previous owners that apparently didn't drive more than 14K miles a year and just treated her well.
I updated the lights front (including fog) and rear (including 3rd break light).

    HVAC questions:
1 - My HVAC doesn't turn on right away. It takes a min or two with nothing on the dial, then it will turn on, always at 75 (it has no previous memory of settings once you turn the key off). I haven't ever run into this.

2 - No heat. I replaced the original thermostat thinking that might be the issue, but didn't resolve. I thought maybe this was a bubble in the cooling system, but I let it run for about 40 min, revving the engine over and over, I did get a few bubbles out but still no heat. It is highly unlikely the heater core went bad, kinda tough to ruin one of those, any other ideas?

    Cruise Control question:
I do have a question, the cruise control is very spotty. When it does come on, it works great, but getting the little 'cruise' green light to show up is very sporadic. Is this just a button issue? Or is this a problem with the cruise control unit itself?

Thanks for any help and ideas. Thank you.

    Welcome from WA state.
The auto-AC does take a minute or so to kick in after starting (in Auto mode) as it needs to first draw some air into the sensors to determine what to do. That’s fairly normal. The resetting to 75, however, is not. That’s an indication something in your system isn’t running correctly. On vehicles that did the Auto-AC swap, something similar would happen because they didn’t install the additional servo motor and wiring harness needed for the Auto system to operate correctly. Since your truck was a limited (double check the VIN on Toyota’s site to be sure), a missing service or harness won’t be the issue, but it could be a failed servo (happened once on my 2008) or the AC Amplifier (ECU) going out. That second option might also be the cause of no heat, though I’m not an expert in those systems.
