    05 SR5 DC Tundra 4WD
    Hello from NC,

I recently acquired a 05 DC SR5 4WD. This is not my first Toyota truck but it is my first Tundra. I decided I wanted a Gen 1 Tundra because to me it’s the perfect sized truck for my needs. It’s bigger than a Tacoma but not as big as the newer generation Tundra’s. I knew that I needed a DC due to the extra room it provides for the family and wanted 4WD. I had been searching for a long time for one and was about to give up until I found this one. Almost 95% of the trucks I found were from up North and eat up with rust or was 2WD and the mileage was just to high. This truck I happen to stumble across locally. The first thing I checked was the frame and to my surprise I could not believe how clean the underside was. The frame was in excellent condition with zero rust and other than some SC dirt underneath it was clean. I was also surprised to see it had factory leather, I wasn’t aware SR5 packages came with leather. The other trucks I looked at had cloth seats. I found out that the truck spent its whole life in SC and explained why the frame was so clean. It also only had 115,000 miles on the engine. The body and paint is overall in good condition it has some scratches and a couple dings and dents but has never been in any serious accidents. The factory rims have some pitting on them and I plan on replacing them down the road. First priority though is the timing belt. And I know this thread is worthless without pictures so here is a picture I took of the truck the day I picked it up. Random question, does anyone have any idea how many Gen 1 DC Tundra’s were made ? I couldn’t imagine a whole lot since they were only made from 04-06.

Welcome aboard! My guess would be in the neighborhood of 170k DCs were made. Around half of the 3 years production. Someone here may have the official numbers.

Thanks, I was wondering if production numbers were split in half between the AC and DC for those three years. That would make me the most sense anyways.
