Has anyone found their trailer brakes have very little effect even when set on 10? (Not a problem with trailer, works fine on another truck). It's a single axle drum brake trailer, it just barely activates. I tried tandem axle setting, and even electric over hydraulic and it's the same. It's like the signal from truck is too weak.

    Lots of stuff!
I have mine set at 6.0 and it will lock up the trailer brakes when I slide the lever over at the controller.

I use this method to test my trailer brakes whenever starting out on the road.

Mine work great, on multiple trailers. You may want to have your truck checked out.

Or your trailer. If the trailer hasn't been used recently it's common for the drums to rust.

Yeah, agree - OP said it worked correctly on another truck in his initial statement tho.

I didn’t spend the money to just swap out stuff.
I need to get my trailer checked out. I can’t get my ~3.5k travel trailer to lock up even all way up to 10 (gain) going 20-25mph, but I did see info that sometimes it won’t with a load?

my 2023 works the best of any brake controller I have ever owned. Towing dual axle with 3800 pound car, gain set on 5. if trailer is empty i have on 2.5. I agree something is not right with your brakes or maybe the controller.
