It’s a good bit higher than when I purchased mine in 2016……but so is the base price on a Platinum Tundra…..everything is more expensive.

Of course everything is more 7 years later. But I’m talking a few days. 16% increase?

Just checked here and there is about a $300 (Canadian) price increase from last week when I checked! The switchback went from 2254 to 2554 and the HD is up to 3163 (Canadian now). If I recall it was 2800 and change previously. Hard pill to swallow up here in Canada and that doesn't even include shipping which we have to pay for LOL

I got mine used and am really happy with it but there isn’t any way I would pay the msrp on one……I am looking to get a cross bin and even that has jumped. I think they used to be around $250 and are now $329-399…..

    Too many, but not enough....
I feel like everyone is just jumping on the "everything is going up" bandwagon, whether they actually need it or not. I lost my shit some time ago when a parking structure raised its prices and the guys was like " everything is going up these days due to inflation, hardeeharhar", freakin prick.

There’s a difference between adjusting costs based on inflation and plain out gouging.

‘I understand everyone has to eat, and things go up in price and costs have to passed along.

but if the increase is out of line, or “just because” it pisses me offf.

    I would guess two things:
    1. Inflation is real and they are trying to meet inflation costs by increasing consumer costs.
    2. They've gotten much more popular, and as long as people pay the cost for their covers they will test the market. Their market share is miniscule in the bed cover industry so they have to make profits accordingly.....

However I agree that price gouging is different than paying a premium for a superior product. This feels a bit like testing to see how the increase effects their sales and are reaching a bit in terms of value.

All valid stuff here. Diamondback is a premium product and I believe their pricing already reflects this.
Price is likely the, reason they are miniscule.

aluminum hasn’t skyrocketed. Possibly they buy in advance and now have to pay more?

Looking more into this here’s what happened:

nothing is “free”. So the “free” shipping is built into the price. (US customers)
In Canadian dollars the diamondbacks were cheaper than in US dollars BUT we had to pay 150USD to ship to Canada.

all said and done, it was the same price.

now the price is the same wether you pay in US or CDN but we still have to pay the 150USD for shipping to Canada.

i,assumed the 150USD was the actual cost of the “free” shipping. It seemed, cheap so,either an extraordinary deal was reached, or they were subsidizing ? Not sure
