General Supercharger Thread

Placed my order this morning as well, they are having Griptec make them, for anyone wondering.

 

I'm tempted but everyone tells me not to do another thing without building my motor first.

I don't push this thing hard. I reckon I'll get a smidge of a bump in the rpm range I hang in. 2500-4000

 

Ordered as well! Thanks for the heads up so I could check my email for the link @nobodyintexas. As stated, it’s a minor bump so not too worried. Worst case I need a built motor down the line from XAT…. Would not be fun but would not make me go broke.

 

Just do it, worse case you end up building the motor either way

Dropping from a 80mm to a 77.5 should not necessitated a retune

I mean all the retuned data is there, all I’m doing is moving slightly more air

is that a fair statement?

Not a tuner obviously, just here to speculate. I think it’s probably fine given the minor change in flow to the 77.5. The only caveats to that might be if it pushes you over the MAF voltage ceiling and your tune can’t accommodate that, or if you have an inadequate fuel system. Otherwise I think the ECU will read more air with the MAF and just add more fuel? Would love to hear an answer from someone who would know better.

 

I'm guessing you'll (we'll) be good, it's what, a 3% increase?

 

My experience was the MAF needed a little adjusting, but it wasn't bad enough to throw any codes, and that was with a 15% smaller pulley. I wouldn't think with the small difference you would need to do anything.

 

I have my sg3 set to beep at 500 grams, 512 grams being the equivalent of 5 volts

that should keep me out of jail

my afr gauge is always working, unlike my boost gauge.

its not till ~5500rpm’s that I presently hit the maf, it would be highly scientific to see it hit around 4700rpms or so with the smaller pulley

Prospeed motor mounts came in the mail and look great. Larger than I thought but makes sense. Curious how these will feel vs stock with all the extra torque clamped down.

Not to side track this thread but thats an incredibly saturated market. Not a lot of money to be made anymore unless you're doing volume OR doing integrals. The price point on integrals is stupid high.
I was an 07/SOT for many years, even put myself through school while doing it. Building suppressors/ sbr's and sbs were my jam.

 

I picked up the truck yesterday. This thing flies compared to my other truck, granted the other one is super heavy and not supercharged yet.
I will probably be fixing the coupler in the blower sooner than later.
Do you happen to have a link to the size pulley you suggest for the supercharger?

 

Well since you all but demanded I plug my own product, I would get this in the 2.0" variant:

If you don't want that, the next best option imo is the griptec but they only offer down to a 2.3" pulley. The 2.0" pulley I designed specifically for high altitude applications like yours.

I don't know what your additional modifications are gonna be, but due to your elevation you probably don't need larger injectors assuming it already has the 535cc Magnuson ones--though 650s arent gonna hurt ever!

 

I'm not planning on going crazy with the truck as far as engine mods. I'll leave whatever injectors are in it and roll with it. And I don't mind you plugging your products at all. Any way to support a forum member like yourself is awesome in my book, especially somebody as knowledgeable as you. I'll check out that link and start some research on how to swap that pulley.

 

I'm at 1k feet & have the 2.2, can't wait for the weather to cool off so I can swap out my 2.3 & put Sniv's in!
