Just sold my 2019 taco (still trying not to be sad about it) and bought a black 2020 Platinum CrewMax.

She's purty, but what's up with having such a big truck and nowhere to store stuff except the center console that's out of sight? Yes it has lots of space, but nothing behind seats like my taco, nothing under the seats like my taco, and jeez, no compartment in the bed like my taco.

What's everyone else doing? Ive seen the underseat mods- I guess I can do that. Is that all we get?

Never understood how ppl have so much crap to leave in their truck

That being said, my truck box is chock full of gear but it's stuff for recovery and roadside svc.

I picked up the Decked storage system for the bed off Craigslist. It does reduce the depth of the bed, but it works perfectly for what I need to organize my stuff.

Lots of room under back seat if you’re willing to cut carpet and foam.

I went from a Taco to a Tundra in 2020. I still miss the behind the seat and under seat storage.

No biggie, though. I just carry less gear. That, and the fact that my Tundra really outshines my old Taco makes me a happy camper.

I agree - Toyota should include more storage options, even if they are add-on options. But there are several aftermarket solutions. I have a Swingcase, I added storage under the back seat, and I have a lockable tonneau. I also added a console safe. If I need more I can add another Swingcase for the other side, but I'm good with what I have.

This. ESP has options, and provide decent space for minimal work, and look sorta OEM.

I can remember thinking the same when I went from my ‘06 double cab Taco to my ‘08 double cab Tundra and it has storage boxes under the rear seats. Once I discovered the rear seat fold-down mod, I have way more places to “lose” things. I don’t think that’s an option for crewmax trucks though.

I was looking at the UnderCover Swing Case at Realtruck.com. I'm not excited about drilling holes. Any input or thoughts from you all?

    1. ESP Longbox. Wait till it goes on sale. I think mine was $750? Plus two hours of my time.
    2. Plano trunk in the bed. $20. I keep it attached to a bed stiffener so it’s not sliding around. Ultra cheap DIY swingcase, lol.

Swing cases for sure. It came with the roll-n-lock cover, which is pretty nice

I like to store my tool bags, rain suit, extra hoodie, straps, that kind of stuff. The esp route may be enough. Just don’t like to store things in sight. I like a clean truck!

Always one in every crowd. I CAN probably park my old taco in the back seat of this thing, so there’s that.

I personally am glad there's not extra storage. For me, the more storage there is, the more junk I'd end up carrying around. As for the essentials, there's adequate space for them. Anything else that would take up more space, I'd be leaning to a container strapped inside the best for quick easy access.
