2023 Tundra TRD PRO (Solar Octane)
Traded up to a 23 Tundra TRD Pro (Solar Octane) from a 21 F150 Lariat FX4 (Lead Foot).

So, first off I'm new here and so far I'm really enjoying all the information and even some comedy from some threads lol. I get a lot of Tacoma World Vibes. So this is my first Tundra and my first TRD Pro Toyota. I traded the the Tundra from my 21 F150 Lariat FX4. I've owned a few Tacos, but I ended up going with the full-size F150 because I couldn't get over the interior of the older tundra compared to its competitors. So here's my thoughts for my first week of ownership:

1#- Interior- Loving it to be honest. My two favorite things are the 14inch display and the rear window going all the way down (cant wait till it gets cooler to put all the windows down and just cruise). One of my biggest gripes with the F150 is their infotainment system. The display was slightly smaller than the tundra, but using Apple Car Play it would leave about a inch or so of unused space at the top and bottom borders and also it suffered from some wireless connections issues. I have not experienced that with the Tundra so far and the Apple Car Play uses the entire screen and its super responsive. One other gripe is the two tone interior on the Solar Octane. I would of liked the interior roof to be all black instead of the tan color.

2# Exterior- Love it and the Solar Octane is amazing. My favorite Taco color was Inferno and this is close and I can say enough about how sexy this truck is. I've gotten more compliments in the short time I've had this truck than the entire time I had my F150. It could also be the rarity of this color in my area. I've only ever seen one other Pro in this color around here.

3# Engine/Power- Wow I'm really impressed so far with the i-Force MAX engine. So far I'm liking it, but I do miss the growl of my F150's V8. I only hope I don't experience any of the i-Force MAX engine issues I've read about on here.

4# Room/Family Approval (lol)- The kids love it and so does the wife. Plenty of room for all of us so I don't think travel will be a issue. I do miss the under seat storage in the rear, but its a small issue and honestly I don't care to much about it being used for the batteries.

5# Aftermarket/Fun stuff- I am a little disappointed there's not a lot of lift options higher than 3inchs for the TRD Pros that I can find. Not a big deal, but I didn't realize this before buying the Pro. I'll probably just got w/ the ICON stage 5 like I had on my Taco back in the day. Which will be plenty for the off roading I do. It'll get me out to my fishing holes out in the country and that's all I need really. Not going to be doing to much crazy stuff in this expensive truck lol. Maybe hit up some powerline trails or something on the side.

6# Overall- I'm absolutely loving it so far and couldn't be happier.

To be fair, it was "I-force" for the V8 Toyotas. IMAX, as you have mentioned, was already taken. Welcome aboard and congrats on the new truck! bet it's a beaut, hard to tell cause you DIDN"T POST ANY PICTURES!!

who cares you still understood what he said.

I will say Ford finally released full screen car play. Looked like shit before but it’s a lot better now.

Well thanks for correcting me. Would of been tragic if I would of tried and watch a movie under the hood of the truck. Imagine the disappointment of my family.

They pushed an update out to the 21's which extended it to the right all the way, but still left that horrible border at the top and bottom. Kinda looked stretched, but was an improvement for sure though. Glad they went full screen cause to me the SYNC layout has always been ugly.

I'll get some pics up soon. Been swamped at work and she needs a bath first from all the road grime from having to drive to Mobile, AL and back in the rain to pick her up.

Congrats on new pickup. "Keep an eye" on those bearings, they break sometimes.

    Congrats op,
Slight thread jack, does anyone know why Toyota keeps doing driveshaft tunnel, unlike Ford?
I love flat floors on F150's,

Not in Solar Octane though. Not a fan of the Terra color or the other TRD color options. However, I could of got the Solar Octane in the off road version on the '24. I always wanted a TRD Pro so I bit and I'm happy so that's all that matters to me. The big question is do the '24s have recovery hooks on the front? lol Then there's the mark ups on the 24 Pros which I imagine would be insane since a localish dealer was trying to sell me a Solar Octane Pro for 97k.

Ooohhh I didn't even think about this. You are right that the flat rear floors are def a pro for the F150.

That's true. Solar Octane is a great color. I love that color as well but I afraid I would get sick of it in 6 months and it might be harder to resell so I went with white lol
As far as I know, still no recovery hooks in 24s sadly :(

Did you get the all black interior or the cockpit red? I thought the red looked super sharp on the one i test drove.

I considered red interior when I ordered my 24 but finally went with black since it now has black headliner as well

But with that back window down it's pretty close and I ride more with all my windows down vs the past f150 as the wind seems to be more under control.

Probley make everything fit tighter underneath, all I see is the muffler on the tundra.
I know the Ford frame is lower under the cab area too.
