I've had my 2020 SR5 for a couple months now, and on a hot day (every day), I have to have the AC on the max setting to get it anywhere near cool. Even if I turn the knob down one click below max it's like it's barely on.

Is this normal for Tundras or should I have it looked at?

First step anyone will recommend is to verify your cabin air filter is not clogged up. This can restrict airflow if unchanged for too long.

That doesn't seem right to me however I don't know how the heat is in your area vs. where I live in NC. Normally it only takes me a few minutes on max AC before I can change the temp a couple notches to a "warmer" setting to maintain the coolness in the cab. I would say you could try charging it yourself however for a 2020 it seems like you may want to have it checked for a leak first.

Can you elaborate on the issue. Is it "barely on" in the sense that the air is not blowing hard, or that the air is blowing hard but not coming out cold?

When it's all the way on the high setting, it blows hard and cold (let's say 8 on a 1-10 scale), but just one click down it blows say more like a 4. Still cold air.

Also it's been around 100-105 degrees here in the afternoon. Zero Humidity.

One thing I notice in mine is that when I take the fan setting down (even one click) from the highest level the fan noise does decrease a lot. However i still have good and cold airflow. Definitely not a decrease of air from an 8 to a 4 for flow or temp. So if you are talking about the air flow it may me the cabin filter, like the previous response mentioned.

Okay thanks, I'll try the filter first, I should've thought about that.

Does the cabin filter work when it is on recirc? I thought it only came into play when outside air was being brought in.
