2000 Tundra Stereo Wiring Diagram

Please help. I am trying to install an after-market stereo in my 2000 Tundra (SR5 Access Cab) and was trying to use this diagram: 2000 Tundra EWD - EWD367U.
While the wire colors in that diagram are somewhat correct, the pinout at the factory stereo is altogether different. I found the battery and ACC pins in the plug, and I created a ground, so the stereo turns on, but after connecting the speaker wires to what I think is right, there is still no sound out of them.
I think I see an amplifier down lower in the instrument panel (stereo wires go to it too), but I don't know what the connections between it and the stereo are.
Any info would be helpful.
