Anyone know if the 120V AC outlet is a pure sine wave output or modified sine wave output?

Yes, it matters for certain devices.

Gee wish i knew also. If you can find someone that works for Motorola or a good communications specialist or a school vocational ed electronics place they can hook it up to an oscilloscope and find out . the wave will be square or saw tooth. Just an idea hope it helps. smileytn1

Here is what I was able to capture with an old but still functional CRT style Oscilloscope I pulled out from under the stairs in my basement. Excuse the dirt, please.
The setup, truck running in park (in hybrid mode with motor off), 75w trouble light, power strip for accessing plug, o-scope plugged in to garage power:

This is what a true sine wave looks like (house power).

This is what the power from the truck looks like if you can piece the following pictures together, tough getting one shot with the flicker...

Thanks! I've been meaning to get my scope out and do that but you beat me to it.

Definitely a MSW output! Not too useful except for lights IMO.
