Trailer is a 20ft camper, weighs 4300lbs on the scale, single axle, yes its right at gvwr, had to take tool box out to get under max.

trailer came with westlake (china) brand tires D rated. The max weight of the tires were 100lbs less than the max weight rating of the trailer axle.

replaced them with E rated goodyear endurance. Holy smokes it tows like a new trailer. Less bounce, before i could see trailer rocking moving on bumps that now it just rides through. Also another benefit, the goodyears exceed capacity at 55psi, i needed 65psi in the old tires. I have no plans of adding weight to the trailer, but it is more comfortable knowing im no longer at max capacity of the tires

Highly recommend these if you have a small trailer.

Makes all the difference. Nice choice in tires too.

I don't know how many times I've seen various trailers where tires seemed to be an afterthought. Never understood that. They're just as important as any other tire. You'd think!

Don't forget to keep the sun off them when parked for a while. Also good to raise em up to avoid the ovality issues. Personally, I keep trash tires on my camper when it's parked as theft prevention. They won't make it out of the neighborhood kinda trash. The real stuff is in the garage:thumbsup: 30 minutes with a good jack and impact wrench every time though.:annoyed:

Had a similar experience with my trailer. People thought it was weird that I was replacing the OEM tires on my new trailer, but there is no comparison in how it goes since going to Goodyear Endurance tires in a LRE instead of the LRD garbage it came with.

Pretty sure the factory tires on these trailers are not only junk, but also become oval shaped while sitting around waiting to be purchased. The sellers have no reason to give it any thought.

My last trailer (GeoPro) came with the Westlake tires. I put about 1000 miles on that trailer before bumping up to a larger trailer. I didn't really have any issues with the Westlakes but they did make me a little nervous, based on what I'd read online. The new trailer came with Goodyear Endurance tires, and I am much more comfortable with those.

Excellent post; I'm about to move from MO to VA in 3 weeks, and it might be time to replace the tires on my trailer.

I think my 2015 Coachmen has Carlysles on it. I'll have to look next week when I go up to storage. I know I have to replace a valve stem so it may be a good time to get all new tires. They may be original and past their DOT date.

    Lots of stuff!
My Airstream came with Goodyear Endurance and they have been very stable for the 3 years that we have used them. I took them off and put some 10 ply Falken A/T3W's on. The Goodyears were getting close to 5 years old (Trailer was manufactured in 2018 and we bought it new in 2020).

The Falkens are heavier by about 10 lbs. I was going to put some Michelins on but couldn't get them in a 15". The Falkens are one size bigger so they fill up the wheel wells and the heavy tread matches the Tundra tires too. My Trailer has a 3" lift and now a bit more (1/2" more) with the new tires.

I might think twice about these tires for the trailer but since it is a single axle, the sidewall stress isn't a major concern compared to a double axle.

I am going to keep the pressure of the Falkens around 70 psi and see how that works. I ran my Goodyears at 65 psi and that worked well based on the weight of the trailer.
