Going to be removing the lift block in the rear and wondering if it's worth it to change out the bump stops to some nicer ones while I have it apart and putting in new u-bolts.

U-bolts are supposed to be one-time use, so installing new bumpstops while they're already off and being replaced helps so you don't have to buy u-bolts twice.

Depends on your use case how much they'll benefit you though. From my experience, aftermarket bumps like Timbrens are not near as jarring as the OEM bumpstops. I was hitting the bumps often before repairing my leaf springs, so I found them useful.

If you don't mind spending the cash and don't plan on installing airbags, I'd do 'em.

I'd do Sumo springs and if you off road much get a second set that you can cut down and rotate into position to gain articulation when you go wheeling. Certainly helps keep away the sag when the truck gets loaded up with cargo.

I think I will go ahead and replace them with the Wheelers superbumps. No air bags in the future, probably road master.

What’s the budget? I’ve always hated hitting the bump stops, but recently went with hydraulic bumps. You want smooth control with no jarring? That’s the ticket…

I wouldn't mind going hydraulic but I don't think I need that extreme. I was only looking to change because I will be removing rear lift block and installing new u-bolts.

If you shop around a bit, you can find pricing much lower than MSRP.

Of all places, I found and ordered mine on Walmart.com. There is a zero.zero percent chance that Walmart sells Icon bumps at a store, but some algorithm must have told them to buy and sell some online. My assumption is they didn’t sell fast so they chopped the price. I think I paid a shade over $700 shipped. They arrived in a couple days, still factory sealed in an Icon box. Saved about $250.
