Mysterious windshield wiring

    Any idea what these wires do? Chilton manual is no help as usual.

    There's a heating element built into the windshield to help prevent the wipers from freezing to it. It's like a rear window defroster but for the front, and only the bottom black area. You activate via the side mirror heater button and it runs for about fifteen minutes before automatically turning off.

    Another feature I did not even know I had. My truck stays home most days during the winter and I don't ever remember even using the heated mirrors. Thanks!

    Wow that’s news to me I’ve never heard of a 2nd gen having heated windshield
    maybe a 2.5 gen but this would be the first early 2nd gen
