A 2003 toyota sequoia was supposedly dropped in this truck years ago
So I made a huge mistake years ago and just completely ruined my differential. Started with me stripping of the drain screw. Then hiring multiple people to try and get it off. They tapped into it. Man it leaks everywhere. So I can't even keep the gear oil in it. Someone did a disgusting tweaker job on it and now it basically leaks everywhere. But u need to somehow get oil into it. I pumped it up from the drain screw. Came out of course but bought me some time. So recently my driveshaft fell on me while I put my truck in reverse quickly.i got stuck under the truck and no joke got ran over by my own truck. Right when it was about to roll over my head, it suddenly made a left turn and went off my chest. I saved the pictures and the t-shirt with the tire marks cuz my sorry ass gf doesn't believe me. Even with all my injuries. She claimed nobody can get ran over by a truck and survive. Wanna bet? I realized the 4 bolts came off. As if it was done purposely. So I put 4 bolts in it and it worked for awhile. Then I paid someone to redo the job and guess what. They just tightened the same damn bolts that were too long in the first place. They're hitting something at the end of the differential. I now do all my work on my own truck. I just watch YouTube and pause/play. You'd be surprised what you can learn by watching people tear down a differential. But I, for the life of me can't figure out what this piece is. It's red. I have a picture. I bought the correct size and weighted bolts with security so they don't snag up against this part again. But what is this part. Any help?? Greatly appreciated. I'm a female so talk to me like I'm 5 years old lol. Thank you

So the 4 bolts that are connected to the driveshaft are too long and are hitting the back of this red plate that's a part of the differential and now it clanks around like it's loose. What is that plate at the end of the differential that's red.
Also, can I come from behind to get gear oil in this thing. I have no money so I'm thinking about buying a seal for everything.

I've not only bought the correct bolts for this, I bought extra security for the bolts.

That's not my question. My question is there's this plate dangling around so it definitely can't be the flange. It's super thin almost like a disc. If I have to I'll replace the cobra
Bolts and take it off very quickly for a picture. Just wanted to do everything at once. So the person who said "buy the right bolts" could have sworn I just said I did. With extra security. And it wasn't me who screwed me over. I hired a gut to replace the bolts. He just tightened the wrong cheap ones right back in. This plate is 1 dimensional. I really don't think it's the flange but who knows ?? It's just a cheap piece of metal flopping around like.......like the lid of a can of raviolis. Maybe. Maybe it got displaced into 2 parts. But I looked at the flange and its not even close. I've BOUGHT the correct bolts. Please don't respond something dumb like that. I really just need help on the part. I'm st on going down and replacing the bolts. Just wanted to do both at same time because I don't ever want to worry about this again. Ty guys, for any suggestions. I really appreciate your time.

Looks like part of the pinion flange. I thought it was a seal cover, does it spin with the pinion?

    Welcome from TX!

I could be wrong but it looks like the "companion flange"

Look here and see for yourself.

Get the correct length bolts for the thing. They can't be that expensive.
