Which should I do and what are the pros and cons of each type? I rarely haul any heavy loads in the bed of the truck and the bags are to help when pulling my enclosed cargo trailer.

I use the individual fill ports with each bag. My rational is if I spring a leak one will at least be holding weight.

Most will run separate lines. If you do a T to fill them both, then have individual shutoff valves for each. Filling with a T is great as you can get the pressure even between the two. When you start driving though, the two bags hooked together can cause issues when hitting a bump on one side. The bag will compress and send some of the pressure to the other side through the T making the bump seem even worse than it is. You’ll also exacerbate sway in the rear.

Individual ports. It is not uncommon for me to run a few pounds difference between sides depending upon load. Plus the same concern regarding single points tof failure discussed above.

    My .02. YMMV
