I went to get in my truck this weekend and I could not open the door as normal. Tried clicking the button on the remote and it would not work. I figured ok battery must be dead in remote or maybe the truck battery (seemed strange since it is only a year old)
Went and got my other remote and everything was working fine .
I then tried the remote that initially did not work and it was working fine again ?

Has anyone had this happen ?

Were you at your home or somewhere different? Sometimes municipal radio towers or other UHF/VHF equipment can cause enough RF interference to shorten or negate range from keyless entry systems.

Happened to me on Saturday as well. Went to lock the truck when me and the wife were out shopping and nothing happened, so opened/closed passenger door and fob locked truck. Came back to unlock later and nothing worked on the fob. Only have the one fob, so was a bit concerning. Grabbed the door handle to see if it would unlock, nothing. Tried the fob again and it worked. Weird. Haven't had any issues since Saturday.

May be worth changing the batteries out on the remotes just to rule that out. I know they are new, but button cells could have sat around for years before they got installed by Toyota. It's possible one may just be a lemon.

When this happened to me I found that the fob case had slightly come apart.

I strangely just had this happened to me Sunday. I took the battery out of my second remote I dont use, and everything worked fine so I just assumed it was dead battery.

Pull the key from the bottom of the fob and unlock the door manually. You should also be able to push the start button with the keyfob to start it in the event of a dead remote battery as well.
