Getting gas and a guy in a white 2018+ Platinum yelled “That lift won’t get you home when your turbo fails!”

What is it about our trucks that make them so upset? I don’t think about theirs at all.

    Also, who enjoys pork loins?

I think the "generational hostility" will always exist. I'm like you, I don't really think too much about trucks that aren't parked in my garage.

Did you get that pig in Texas?

I prefer a v8. But that’s me. I wouldn’t be hating like that guy though. I think that’s overboard. He was probably upset his gas miles don’t go as far as yours. Oh well. Don’t let it ruin your mood.

Just admit it, Euro – obviously you're poor and can't afford the gas it takes to drive a 2nd gen so you're living out of your truck in the woods stealing poor little animals' tasty backstraps and tenderloins. And that nice man in a real truck went out of his way to warn you. Like a friendly neighbor.

No need to Jussie Smollett us with this made up story of 2nd gen oppression.

Actually, maybe the story is credible. He was at a gas station when he saw the 2nd gen driver. That is our natural habitat.

Just roll in and say "the usual"... which means 30 gallons of the hard stuff. Hell, we have to do that, too. Just maybe a few days later.

You should have asked the Gen 3 hater if he wanted to race a 1/4 mile for truck titles.

That guy is a huge douche and you should discount his words out of hand.

Everyone knows it's your sudden lack of bearings that's going to strand you.

Fuck no. Not a fan of that part of the country at all.

Plus I don’t spend any time insulting other drivers for their choice of vehicles in person.

I mean I insult people on here all the time, but that’s entertaining to me. If I’m out and about I don’t have time for that shit.

As far as why I don’t enjoy Florida you mentioned a few reasons. There’s probably more.

I love you too bro. No homo.

I don’t care that people are buying the 3rd Gen. As much as I dislike the entirety of the 1/2 ton pickup truck market, I’d probably grudgingly buy one over the competition because I can’t just ignore my great ownership experience with my current Tundra. Plus the dealership local to me doesn’t do ADM or engage in shitbaggery, and that means something.

At this point since I have resisted the “new shiny” temptation past the point of desire for a new truck, I’m reconsidering what type of vehicle I want to daily drive. So far since I have a running driving 1/2 ton that gets used for homeowner chores or commuting, I am leaning towards keeping it for truck stuff and buying a GX550 or Land Cruiser next fall if the market is more “normal”. For $65K to $75K I’d rather daily one of those since they’re better in snow and on icy roads because of full time 4X4 with a Torsen equipped transfer case, and they have an enclosed cargo area in the back for my work related travel gear. I have to admit I’m getting sick of taking that shit out of the back door of my Double Cab and risking door dinging a coworker or dragging my pack and lunchbox against their vehicles.

Now if you’ll excuse me I need to go borrow some catalytic converters….

Anyways, back into it. Will your truck bring you home when turbo fails? Can it limp its way home with limited resources?

When my sec air inj pump failed and truck was in limp mode, I was able to get to work and back pretty well that day. Obviously passing you could not, but normal acceleration was fine, even cruising 55.. in fact, you couldn't even tell she was limping until moderate acceleration was needed.
