Lifted Tundra Outer Tie Rods (Pro Comp Lift)

    Guys-

    I'm posting this here in hopes that it will live on through the internet and help someone else as I just went through this. Internet searches gave me some data but never exactly what I needed, I was able to hunt down the parts I needed and get my truck fixed so thought to share. Here is the quick rundown, with additional details to follow.

    Truck: 2016 SR5 Tundra. 6" Pro Comp Lift.
    Mileage: 180xxx
    Issue: Outer Tie rods loose, needed replacement

    Narrative:
    Seems like an easy fix, source some new outer tie rods and that's that. Turns out finding them for my truck wouldn't be so easy, various internet searches did yield some part #'s but nothing definitive. Pictures weren't lining up either, my tie rods were short and straight and nothing I found matched what they looked like. I couldn't find anything definitive that said for your make and model you need exactly this.

    I emailed Pro Comp and found out that the straight tie rods I had on my truck were no longer used. Apparently there was an issue with them rubbing against the spring, so they switched out to a curved set which...he said I could order from 4 Wheel Parts (but I couldn't find that part # on their website to begin with).

    I sent him (Benny at Pro Comp) this link to the installation manual:

    And told him what I needed (based on page 13) was:
    - Driver: 90-40232
    - Passenger: 90-40231

    He replied with: Part number 90-40231B is a boxed pair of those, and you can order them through 4 Wheel Parts. They can be reached at 877-474-4821.

    I called 4WP, ordered that part #, had them installed and am now good to to. Pics follow.

    Did this happen to also fix the issue that PC has with the steering geometry? My symptoms (and many others) are that at full turn, the truck 'walks' or 'snowplows' because the lift causes asymetric turning radius on the truck.

    Pro Comp 6" Lift Fuel Renegade d263 Nitto Ridge Grappler 35 x 12.5 x 20 Borla cat-back exhaust Volant intake Bakflip MX4
    I have the same lift but 7 inch. Pro Comp told me the only difference was the 1 inch in coil spacer.

    I just installed JBA uppers and Rough Country Vertex coilovers. Alignment shop is having trouble getting camber dialed in. They said the tie rods ran out of adjustment and they should be shorter to make everything play well.

    I'm curious if the coachbuilder tie rods would work with these Pro Comp spindles or if they would hit. Long shot, but anyone have experience with this setup?
