Low fuel light

I have a 2021 TRD Pro

How far can you drive once the low fuel light comes on? The low fuel light turned on right as I got in a long line for pick up at my kids school. It’s 110 degrees and I’m worried I’ll run out of gas waiting in line for 20 minutes with the AC on. Am I being paranoid?

 

You’ll be fine. There’s at least a 6-gallon reserve. But you don’t want to run it that low regularly - the reserve is intended to keep the fuel pump cool. I’d say pick the kids up and then head to the gas station.

 

The truck burns about .5-.6 gallons per hour at idle. Maybe a bit more if your A/C is running hard full time. You'll be fine. Get thru the line and find a gas station.

 

This is the first time that I’ve ever let it get to the point of having the low fuel light come on. We went straight to the gas station and put in 31 gallons!

 

I once (and only once) put in almost 31gal after driving about 30-35 miles past the light coming on… Enjoy!

 

When the low fuel light came on we were less than a mile from the gas station.
