Yeah only reason was they were giving me good trade value + crv is nice on mpg.

but the only thing that annoys me about the raptor is parking is a bitch sometimes and the mpg . But everything else I’m 150% satisfied with and figured why gamble like I did the pilot.

Smiles per gallon my friend. I get the parking thing, but small price to pay to me.

    360 cameras have made a 157
Inch wheel base surprisingly livable for me. Bur I think the Raptor width would be tougher the way some public lot spaces are.

The bitch is the width. It has a better turning radius than my Gen. 3 tundra did.

The Raptor is a phenomenal machine. We drove a ROW with our land agent’s and he was straight up Baja’ing it. I was shocked at how well it just glided over everything. It really lives up to its hype.

Y’all know I’m liking the Ford, but the Raptor is a just a silly vehicle if you’re East of the Mississippi. We simply don’t have the terrain to take advantage of the capabilities and our trails are too narrow for it to fit.

Also, I really want a 6.5 foot bed which is not available in the SuperCrew or any Raptor configuration for that matter.

The everything thread this is. Sorry John (OP)
I got an email from Toyota Canada about the new Land Cruiser. This is a big deal as it hasn't been available in Canada for a long time forcing you to go with the Lexus. You don't bring a Lexus into trails......

    https://www.toyota.ca/toyota/en/register-for-land-cruiser-updates

Its peaked my interest but a 2.4 liter engine ? Seriously ?
My wifes Outback has a 2.5 liter engine.
Sure it will tow Bannerman's boat 8^0 but still.
    Any opinions.
    With that.
8.7 Liters / 100kms is enticing. We will probably be at $2.00 liter for gas by end of the year.

I haven't looked into details at all. What would this offer that a 4R wouldn't?

The 4R/GX have been the light duty Prado platform for the US for the last two generations of 4Runners. (Gen 3 4R was our Hilux Surf).

I see the '24 Land Cruiser as a 4Runner+. Full time 4wd is standard (where it was only on the GX and Limited trim of the 4R previously), center and rear lockers, a 1k bump in towing capacity, better fuel economy by a significant margin. It seems to me like a Trailhunter 4Runner with a Land Cruiser badge, specifically targeting the Bronco market. :notsure:

Having a larger family, I was disappointed that the "return" of the LC was not the next wagon, the 300 series, but a 250 Prado. The only vehicles with the LC badge in the North American market have been the wagons: 60, 80, 100, 200. And we've always had a Prado. So how is this the "return"?

I had a 3-row 5th gen 4Runner. And all you GX owners can sympathize: that 3rd row is absolutely useless. The 3rd row of the 200 series is not a whole lot better, but at least it'll do for 12 year olds.

How about those '22 Tundras and F-150s?

    Got ‘em.

jack’s aside, that would really suck to be in that situation. I was reading through some of the threads on it, and some people were afraid to have their kids in the car even. One guy is in aToyota provided rental car until it’s fixed.

    Y’all know Ford is boss…..
All the Yota fan bois… ha. My how the F-150 lives rent free in your minds. This thread has gone on for 129 pages.

Only reason I didn’t get an F-150, I’m bored of driving them all day at work. Between that and the Z-71 Silverado. We have both an Eco boost and the 5.0 version. To be fair the 5.0 dead, some dumb ass couldn’t be bothered to check the oil level. Probably just get a new crate motor and call it a day. The Silverados have held up amazingly well. The Tahoes are too new to know, the sups are scared to give them to us. I want to try out our new Z-71 Tahoes, they are so nimble. Got a few Eco boost Explorers all wheel drive, those are monsters. Nothing outruns those things.

Tundra is not a bad truck though…. Atleast Ford will admit to the issue with their engines. Toyota just keeps you/us in the dark.

when Ford initially introduced their gen.3 Coyote, they were forthcoming with the failures, which was due to the plasma weld cylinder liners failing. But they were open about it. Probably even have Ryan a cease & desist letter…

Even when Dodge’s Pentastar was having issues with their valve followers due to contamination, Dodge was upfront also.

Regardless I still enjoy my Tundra. who know when it will blow, if it does. Hopefully it’s somewhere convenient.

But the general consensus “ Toyota stands by their products “. I’m sure they will….

Real shady Toyota won’t speak up.

That's not 65N in Nashville, but about a month ago, I passed a melted Super Duty early in the morning exactly like that. The front end and cab were just gone. It could only be identified by the bed.

Honestly, you hate to see it. That sucks for anyone.

I had a Caddy catch on fire on me. Had my oil changed and they left the battery warmer on top of the valve cover.

    Definitely sucks.

 No one's truck lives rent free in anyone's minds. This thread has gone on forever because Toyota finally updated the Tundra, and people have a LOT of strong opinions about it. It's now more comparable to the Eco (and Power)Boost, hence the thread.

It has been fun watching the back-and-forth. I appreciate quality shitposting as much as the next guy. Being someone who will not be in the market for a VERY long time, it is entertaining watching (from a distance, lol) the total insanity going on right now.

I do think that Toyota doesn't quite know yet. It's nice they're fixing them as quickly as possible. But if I had to have the engine rebuilt in a new truck, I would sell it immediately. That would completely obliterate my confidence.

Even the temp fox isn’t until October but quite a few are going in now and getting loaner or rentals.

also saw a few diy fixes. One did insulated foam and the other just made a clip to keep from rubbing

"Atleast Ford will admit to the issue with their engines. Toyota just keeps you/us in the dark."

Not starting a fight but my local dealer gave the run around.....
What about the transmissions? Mine overheated was over full by 3.5 qts and they reflashed it and sent me on my way....that's not the fix just a band aid if you read other owners experiences.

The cam phaser was knocking @ 20,000 miles and Ford said "it's the HPFP and that's normal" but a ford mechanic on yt clearly shows how to manually manipulate the right intake cam phaser and the knocking goes away as mine did when they were replaced at 40,000 miles because of the startup rattle.
Atleast my local Ford dealer just keeps putting band aids on everything until your really broken down.
Oh and the door latch freezing but not a safety recall???
Maybe yours was a lot more forgiving.

45,000 miles and that Ford was enough for me.

I see this hitting 200 pages Lmao

And this is why I will never buy a used, high mileage vehicle from CarMax, a dealer, or a little corner mom&pop used car dealer.
There's no way they fixed all those issues and it changed hands twice for only $6k more than what they paid for it.
