Hey all - first post here. Recently upgraded from a Tacoma and got myself a 2016 Tundra SR5 TRD, double cab with the long bed (bought the tundra about 2 weeks ago). 175,000 miles on the truck, runs great and it’s in great shape. I love it so far! Only thing is when it’s starting it’ll typically have an extended crank before starting up. Takes about 5-10 seconds to start up. I can’t figure out what’s going on, here are a few other symptoms and a video of it starting that might help:
-I noticed that when I feather the gas pedal when starting it, it fires right up with no delay
-I noticed a fuel smell and sometimes black smoke out of the exhaust when starting it up

Going to replace the spark plugs, check the battery, and run some Techron fuel cleaner through it this week.

Any other thoughts or ideas on what the issue could be?

Welcome to the forum! Sorry that issues with your truck are what brought you here. I've had a similar issue but only in cold weather. It sounds like all of your issues are fuel related, I wonder if you might be in need of new injectors. I'd be curious to see if running the cleaner through the system helps your issue at all.

Before you start throwing parts at it, check to see if yours is a Flex Fuel truck. They have a known issue with hard starts related to incorrect ALC% being retained by the computer.
