I have a 2008 Toyota Tundra with a top on the bed. Previously when I inserted the key and turned the top began rising. Now the top does not begin rising and it’s too heavy for me to lift. Can there possibly be a fuse for this, or can anyone suggest another problem causing this?
    Thanks so much, Red62

Is it a 1 piece hard flat top that lifts up from the tailgate?
If so it's probably the 2 shocks that help it lift. Just replace them and it should work again. If that's the type of bed cover you are talking about. Pictures would definitely help.

    Is it like this?

Yes it is exactly like that. Thank you so much for answering my post. Now do you think I could replace these shocks or should I take it somewhere? The only problem with that is some places take advantage of me being a female and charge out the ass.
    Thank you again, Kathy

Go to a camper shell dealer and tell them that you need to get the lift struts replaced on your bed cover.

No worries! BTW, welcome to the forum from OKC! Hang around and you will learn all kinds of good stuff and get to see some decent comedy pretty often as well.

Look up the cost of the parts online and you’ll know how the dealers price is

    You can replace them yourself.
Where are you located? I'm sure if someone is nearby they will help you.

I had a piston like that go out in a Ford Escape rear window that opened and the actual part was about 10$ and ended up being about a 10 minute install. Those pistons look very similar and hopefully are look/cost simple to do as well. Aka may even get someone at like Napa or Pep Boys to just install in the parking lot.

I'm located in Southern California near Bakersfield, California. Thank you everyone for taking the time to Welcome me, post answers/suggestions. I really appreciate it. And yes, I will stay tuned and hang out I'm sure I can learn a lot. It sucks not knowing anything about my vehicle, however I didn't think I would divorce after 25yrs also. We're faced with new challenges everyday.

Thank you Jonathan for your reply. Honestly I have no idea if it has Gas Struts, however I found a video on YouTube that shows how to remove and replace the Gas Strut. The video also said they were not expensive, I believe he said $26.00 for the pair. I do have an Auto Supply place here in town that I have purchased a Battery and Windshield Wiper Blades from and they were very helpful. I will make a point to stop there and just simply ask for help. Thanks so much Red62

There is a little spring steel clip that holds the female over the male pivot ball. Simply insert a small screwdriver or pocket pry bar under the clip to pry it out and the female will lift off the male. Installation requires just snapping the female over the male. Really easy!
