My new Tundra navigation system works great getting around in urban areas. However, I recently traveled into remote mountains areas where I needed to establish waypoints so I could return again to the exact location and it was problematic. Is there a protocol for establishing waypoints to return to? Does the system provide coordinates and elevation like most navigation systems do? My older Tundra's navigation system worked well in this situation.

If you have time to plan you can download Google offline maps and then navigate like normal. But not having built in onboard maps is a major PITA, IMO, just for this reason.

Google didn't even get me close to my destination on a recent trip where GPS coverage was spotty or nonexistent. I switched to Toyota navigation and found where I was going.
