Any recommendations for a windshield sunshade?

    The dust has settled.
I ended up with Heatshield, and it is thicker in material than the Costco one, which is to say, a piece of cloth or two since it is two layers. The Heatshield was thicker and if not install correctly can know my rear view mirror out of wack (gotta work on that)
I love the Covercraft, but the gaps on the side was way too big for me to be comfortable keeping it knowing that's not what I agreed to, the Amazon website didn't indicate that gap either. Otherwise,t he Covercraft build is superior to that of Heatshield, maybe I should get one for wife's Pilot since she rocks the Costco one, too.

Don't quite understand why you are so worried about small gaps in the coverage of the shade. Things have changed a lot from the 1960s and 1970s when the interiors of vehicles would basically disintegrate because of sun damage. I sold my 2000 Tundra last year and the dash and interior was unaffected by the sun. I use the covercraft because it keep the truck much cooler, not because I am worried about damage from the sun.

    Heat.
I am not worried about the interior, it will destroy itself with my kids in them.
The heat and temp inside a truck parked under the Houston sun can be very deadly, and I have no desire to be inside a hot truck if I can.
I do feel the Covercraft is thicker and does a better job keeping the heat out of the car, but with very visible gaps, it allows heat inside the cab, which defeats the purpose of getting it in the first place.

Well then it looks like you have to choose between better coverage or better insulation.

I know I'm late to the party but ECLIPSE sunshades are my favorite. It is the first thing I buy on every vehicle I get. Even buy them for friends as gifts. They mount to windshield and its as simple as pulling them together and connecting velcro

LOL, I haven't seen a set of those for at least 30 years.

They are inferior to other methods on a few levels and one of the most significant ways is that they have to stay on your windshield.

I sold my windshield heat shade because I put a dash design on the dash to protect it from the heat. I will be posted it for sale soon. It’s does have TRD pro in red letters in the black.

I had no idea they still made dash rugs. I really do not see the point. Dashes do not disintegrate any more like they did in the 1960s and 1970s. Plus, one of the main purposes of the heat shield is to prevent the interior from becoming so hot. Those will do nothing to prevent that.

To each his own though. YMMV

To each is own I guess.
I love them and everyone that I know that has bought them does a well. Lasting 7 years and 9 years in previous vehicles I would have to agree that is definitely an inferior product for sure.

I've had about 10 of these units over the years... one of the very first things that I purchase for any vehicle. Can tell you they've never failed.

For those that reccomended getting a sunshade from Costco. Which one? I see three different brands offered on their site.

Timely thread to find, my fold up windshield screen is falling apart and wilts in the heat. I use it religiously and this is the sh!ttiest relentless summer ever!!

    Just ordered the Heatshield.

I have the Weathertech. As mentioned previously, great quality product, a couple of cautions: not at all easy to store, very bulky. And beware the windshield piece: because it fits so snugly around the rear view mirror, on several occasions it has reflected the heat back onto the windshield to the point my mirror has come unglued. The first time was on a vacation trip in remote Arkansas, I had to drive without a rear view until I could get back to civilization and reglue it. Happened several more times until I finally solved it by not putting the screen behind the mirror-just leave it hanging a bit gapped in front of the mirror.
