Well kind of. For those who went to an aftermarket remote start system, what did you go with and why?

    I'm using 12solutions on my wife's 2017 rav4.
Ended up going with the subscription so she can start it with her cell phone.....can get glitch sometimes but most part it works great and tech support has been good. Plug and play no cutting wires.
Not sure what the gen3 are set up as mine is a platinum and don't have to mess with it yet.
*just checked and not listing the Tundra yet on there web site*

The main players in vehicle data modules for the smart key bypass and data line integration are on hold at the moment developing new firmware for the 3rd gen Tundra in particular. iDatalink - probably the biggest in the space - had a few instances in early firmwares where remote starting the truck was causing intermittent issues with the factory alarm so it was pulled for more testing. From what I'm told they are in the testing phase now and I would assume something should be back on the market before winter time.

That being said, it comes down to required range and if you want a secondary remote. iDatalink has RS only firmware that will mimic the Lock Lock Lock command to start the truck but will allow you to choose the set run time and have a different takoeover/shut down than just opening the door. The integration between iDatalink bypass kits and the Compustar remote units is fantastic if you want a separate remote and need more range than just the factory fob. They also easily integrate with a product called Drone which will give you control via a phone app much like the factory Toyota app if you want to do just factory fob control with an app for unlimited range.

Find your local authorized Compustar dealer and see if they have updated info on the firmware release.
