… for those who overtighten drain and fill plugs.

I swear the previous owner of my 2011 used JB Weld as thread locker. And with the transmission fluid check plug being made out of IKEA-grade chinesium, I now have a rounded out, super stuck check plug.

Wait, you mean I’m not supposed to use a 1/2 impact wrench and Rocksett to install drain plugs?

 

No. 3/4" impact. Duh.

 

Nah bro, let’s see how big of a reverse cone we can pack into a 55 gallon drum. Grunts-n’-crafts project.

 

I've thought about it - but I'm sure a few of those 12 pan bolts would break off and piss me off even more. If I have to drill this stupid check plug out and rethread it I'd rather do that then take the chance with the pan bolts I think...

 

You or a muffler shop could weld a sizeable washer to it. Then weld a sizeable nut to the washer. Let it cool just a little bit, then wrench it out. Just be sure that you have the fill plug loose before you begin so you can get it filled up without a problem. Good luck!

Always DIY your oil/filter changes and this won't happen. I've never had anyone do oil/filter on any vehicle I've owned since 1961. I'm 73 (will be 74 in a couple of weeks) and I still slide under the Tundra with it on ramps and take care of it.

LOL, not gonna lie that jet of plasma from our poorly formed cone isn’t gonna make a clean hole in anything. But it’s going to make one hell of a crater nonetheless.
