    I was just the opposite... my Tundra was built with the 1010, but the dealer sold me YZZF1.

    I would sure hope the filter catches this. Mine sure aren't since they contain very, very little metallic particles when they are inspected. Has your experience different?

    so they switched back to cans instead of cartridges in the 3rd gen??

    Yup, spin on now.
    Alot faster without the risk of mucking it up as some have done in the past not putting the metal tube back in and blowing up the motor.

    I wonder why they went with smaller filter on tundar vs the forklift. Is it that much harsher condition to run hydraulic pump vs propel an automobile on the roads? One might argue that the cartridge had more surface area for cleaning contaminants in 2 and 2.5gen vs the can on 3rd gen.

    Might be offtopic and I apologize, gang: does the new v6tt take just as much oil as the olde engines?
