I have 2002 Tundra V8 with 209K miles. When I shift from P to R the car died and also the same from N to D. There is no code was display. Replace the trans oil and the 3 shift solenoids, clean MAF and TB.
That does not help. Car starts without any issue but died as soon as I shift to gear.
Running out any ideas. Any assistance will be appreciated.
    Thank you,
    David

Try unhooking the battery for half an hour and reconnecting.

This all started happening after you changed the shift solenoids? Or after you cleaned MAF and TB?

Was there any specific reason you changed the solenoids?

@Aerindel is correct: You need to unplug negative battery cable for at least 10 minutes when cleaning MAF and TB to force the computer to reset, enter re-learn cycle. And you need to be gentle when cleaning TB.

I changed the solenoids, cleaned the MAF and TB after I am experiencing 'engine died when shift to gear' I was hoping by changing the solenoids will fix the engine died. I tried Aerindel's suggestion and yours and still experiencing engine died when shift to gear.

So, it really sounds to me like this problem has little to do with your MAF and TB cleaning. All the same, I'd still clear any codes (if any) and pull that negative battery cable for 10-15 minutes to force a re-learn if you haven't already.

And if you have, I hope these symptoms - dying when shifting into gear after dicking with shift solenoids - ring a bell. We've had a couple of people with those symptoms in the past, but I don't believe any came after touching the transmission.

I assume you know 100% the transmission fluid level is good?
