Stainless Steel Outdoor Fireplace Help!!!

We bought a house with an outdoor fireplace. The prior owners used it without taking off the blue plastic protective film and some of it has melted in there and I can’t seem to get it off. Any ideas?

I have tried the goo off or whatever it is called. I think I need something that will eat away at the plastic or dissolved it or something.

 

Xylene will likely clean it off. Be damn careful and wear long chemical gloves. Keep kids and pets away. Wear eye protection even if sunglasses. You can buy it at Home Depot or Lowe's by the paint thinner. You can grab small tooth brush sized brass bristle brush at tool store or auto parts store to scrub with.

Thanks guys.. tried the sanding method and well it work well enough not to be embarrassed of it. I’ll clean it up a little more and it’ll be good to go for College Football season. The one or two nights of the year here in central Texas that I’ll be able to use it.
