So let me start by saying that I love my column shifter....but I don't love how it sticks out as far as a Ram towing mirror. Does anyone know of replacements that are smaller or shorter? I was looking to upgrade my head unit, but a bigger head unit screen would get blocked by the shifter partially. Maybe this is trivial to some people, but I really feel like this shifter could've been shorter. Anyway, y'all enjoy your weekend and thanks for any help.

My only guess is to custom fabricate. Good luck!

I have a column shifter as well and I do like it, the only thing I do not like about it is it gets in the way of my 4HI-4LO knob so I have to move my head to see it. I have never seen a shorter column shifter on the market. You could probably make something but the problem is the tow-haul button is on the end of it.

I wonder if you could just shorten one end and replicate whatever is existing on the cut off portion?

In that case, one could maybe just reroute the wires, maybe extend them, and put a switch elsewhere.

Yeah, it seems like custom fabrication would be a lot. I could attempt it, but maybe I'll do other stuff that I'm good at instead. Oh well, thanks guys.

Is it cable operated? If the center console shifter is also cable operated, might be an "easy" swap.
